What have we been doing for the last 3 months??

Julia had her 12th bday bowling with half girls and half boys! They had a lot of fun...bowling and then going out for pizza. They definitley had a good time....not so sure of the rest of the people in the restaurant!... at least we didn't get kicked out!

Julia was recently awarded a certificate for permanent honour roll in Grade 6. She has set the standard high and hopefully keeps it up!

Mike's football season has been kind of rocky as he decided to go down a hill on the back of a tricycle in the dark and sprained his knee! We finally took him to the doc and now he is at physio.....His left leg lost most of it's muscle mass around his knee since he had hurt it about a year and a half ago falling down a much steeper and sharper hill!...I don't make a habit of looking at the muscle in his legs and therefore didn't notice that his muscle mass was decreasing. He had been favoring his right leg for so long he didn't allow his left leg to take the weight. He's doing really well...twice a day doing all of his exercises and stretches. He has stopped football for the season as I don't want him to get a blow from the side as he tackles or gets tackled and have no muscles to hold those ligaments. He still sits on the sidelines during games and cheers the rest on.

I am not back to Tae Kwon-do as my ankle/leg is taking its time recovering. I can run, swim, bike and go to the gym, however I need a couple of days for that ankle to recover when it decides to hurt....apparently things take a little longer to heal..hm. I think stomping, kicking, and sparring are just a little much still. Julia is back at TKD and is now the only uninjured member of our family! Knock on wood! I've been scoping out the Pool/gym in Airdrie....thinking next year we should all join. They are redoing the whole building and expanding it hugely so I think it may be a good time to check into it and switch gyms. The kids and I were swimming today...as smart Ma Ma missed the Pumpkin Festival/ Hay Maze yesterday.....I guess there will be next year! oops :)(...Julia has not let me forget my mistake very easily!)

After spending many hours in the truck this summer and forking out lots of $ for gas...we thought what the heck we will do it again! We took the kids out of school and headed to Sask. for a last camping trip and get our boat and trailer ready for winter. It was beautiful weather and we had a lot of fun in a short time! We met up with the Gullicksons and ran a fun run in Elk Ridge at the golf course....lots of fun. Julia ran the whole 5 k with me...great job Jules!

After another Summer off due to "Surgery" Randy's bionic knees are now getting much stronger. He has been on the elliptical as often as he can...and has figured out which city has the best equipment as he is on the road....of course he also makes note of the cities with the best turkey suppers, most comfortable beds, and hottest waitresses. He is amazing with holding down a full time job, and still finding time to be the most amazing husband, father, general hot guy that he is! So many people wish they could be half as cool as him (especially Glenn).

Thunder is continuing to grow...she is now 5 months old and 80 lbs. She is ironically the same weight as Lightning was at this age. Thunder has been taking Puppy All Star classes once a week for about 4 weeks now....and she is doing great! She sits, lays down, stands, stays, and craps in the middle of the riding arena in front of everyone. We are working on all of these things and a few more. Most of all we are very happy to see that she loves people and dogs. Since we brought her home many of the neighbors have gotten puppies and Thunder is enjoying her buddies to play with...chihuahua or Bernese Mountain dog....it doesn't matter the size.
