Okay, so don't you hate the little cuts you get at the end of your fingers or by your fingernails that hurt so much you can hardly ...well ...type, pick anything up, let alone write for that matter! Well, after three days last week and two consecutive days this week of tying grade four boys skates, this most definitley gave me those nice little cuts! It was pretty much me and about 10- 12 boys in the locker room. Oh, and did I mention the two who were continuously fighting (all in fun...really rough fun!) with all their hockey equipment! Ref "Mom", who has no equipment on, has to break them up about 5 or 6 times before they decide they will stop....until another kid trys to get them to fight again. (other kid being my own!).
Or... could it be the kids who kept turning out the lights in the change room over and over (....because this is apparently fun) that pushed me over the edge? I am not sure, all I know is that after a short hour, I am tired and a little grumpy with sore fingers to boot. Boys will be boys and although they are all really good kids (for the most part), my fingers are killing me! Let me see... I think I skated for mmm...10 minutes.
All that being said, I know though by next year, even though I complain now, I will definitely not be needed as much and the following year I won't be needed at all! So I realize I must reneg on all the complaints and admit that I am happy to be part of their experience at the rink! Atleast I know all the kids that my kid knows and I am happy for that.

My raw fingers got sorer...is that a word? We did knife hand board breaks last night...I smartly hit the board six times until it broke instead of using an easier board...but no more skating! Hope your having a good time!
