Done work for the year!!!

I must clarify this....I of course am not done work for the year, my work load just gotten a little heavier since Randy now is off work until the middle of January. So far, Jet boy has migrated to the couch as if it were a cockpit, with the remote in his hand while saying "execute". In the same breath he says, "Jacque why are the dishes are not washed yet and hey, could you get me a cup of tea and check for some salty snacks "in the back"." So, I am thinking that next week, he will start his chores along with the kids.

Randy started his first day of holidays by taking all of the neighbor kids bumper riding. We have actually got snow this week and it has stuck around!

December has been the time of year that we have taken holidays for the last 4 year or so. The Christmas season seems to fly by so fast that we try to take in as many festive events and occasions that we can as a family. Since Mike is in his last year of Elementary shool we intend to see his last Christmas Concert and any other entertainment at school and Community Hall. The "Christmas Fever" seems to be lost once the kids hit middle school and they get mixed in with the older grades, the season seems to lose its innocent glittery Christmas charm. The High School doesn't have a Christmas Play or Production. During the middle of December the Elementary school is full of music playing, kids singing and crafts being made in every grade. In Grade 2 Mike was Santa Clause in the annual "junior" Christmas Concert. This year he has auditioned to be Zamboni Driver #3 in the Senior Christmas Concert and has high hopes of telling a few jokes.

As Randy has officially started his holiday month.....which I now am thinking sounds alot like his "Birthday Month", the kids have all started new "chores". I now have the kids coming home after school without friends to do their chores and homework before they can go and play. This has worked fairly well so far, however, Mike seems to forget Daily that his friend isn't suppose to come home with him and help him with his chores. I wish I had someone who was very happy to come and help me with my "chores" all of the time. Besides their chores, Julia has been washing supper dishes every night for a week and Mike has been picking up dog poo in the back yard. This week has also been the start of limitations on the computer/video games...
Proof Randy helped with supper tonight....and so did slobbery Thunder. (Note the slobber marks on Randy's pants)....mmmmm RIBS
