Well, Lightning continued to get more and more afraid of strangers. So much that he would stop about 50 - 100 feet away if he saw someone and sit down. If someone came close, he was terrified and would try to bite making it very difficult to calm down and hold back 150 lbs. I am absolutley sure that something had happened to him involving a stranger at some point and his reaction contiuously got worse. Of course I can't be sure as I didn't witness anything like that but I have seen many teenagers teasing through the fence. On a very rainy day...July 7th at 4:44 pm he was put down in Prince Albert Sask. It was the worst thing I have had to do...put down a very healthy dog who loved his family so much but couldn't bear to meet new people. I can't imagine his anxiety level he had when he saw strangers....camping didn't help this at all.
We miss you Lightning!
