Dogs, slowly taking over....

Dogs, slowly taking over...

I am beginning to wonder if I am in a cartoon where the dogs are slowly managing to take over!

I vaccum every day as to get rid of dust, dog hair, etc. I happily have resigned to that and simply do it every day. But I swear last night Lightning thougt he'd take it a step further. He had to go outside about 11:30pm, fine so I let both dogs out. Then they want a drink...not from the bowl but from the running water in the bath tub! Then again, 1:30 apparently they NEED to go outside....at which point I am wondering.....what did I feed them?? So outside they go,come in, and go to sleep. Well, one more time....Lightning yet again thinks "I need to go outside" and begins to speak like chewbacca and since the other two times he actually went to the bathroom, I figure I better get up. (I am beginning to feel like the "gatekeeper" ) This time Lightning decides to laydown and not come in.....only to be spooked minutes later and finally come in.

My bed now looks much more comfy to him and up he jumps. I am so tired, I just lay down next to him and sleep....he slowly inches his 150 lb fat body over pushing me out of the bed! Sleeping vertically is out of the question, he must be horizontal and in the middle of the bed. So up I get and pull him off the bed, during which he sounds again like the star wars dude, only for him to jump back on with such energy that he should only be using during the day! This continues about 3 times!! Sadly, I finally gave up and just slept as best I could as it was light outside :(.

It is not so bad sleeping next to someone 150 lbs or larger, BUT when they dream by kicking all of their legs....anything short of running is ....well pretty much like an earthquake!

8:30 am......jacque having very strong coffee!

9:00 am .....dog still on bed (MY BED) sleeping soundly.... won't get up!

Get a kennel for the night...if you won't put the dog in it get a comfy little mattress and climb in your self. Anonymous

Thank you for your thoughtful insights :) I don't kennel my dogs, however, this was a very unusual night..he usually sleeps right through in his own bed! .. my dog has a big futon that is his own.... it was none the less an unusual, frustrating, sleepless night. Had to vent, no sleep....grumpy....
